Mississauga Kerala Association is a non-profit cultural organization of the People of Kerala origin in and around the region of Peel. People of Kerala origin living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) can become the active members of the association. It was established in 1988.The purpose of this association is to promote social, physical, educational, economic, cultural, and youth activities of its members and community. The Association provides a focal point for people of Kerala origin and helps to promote the rich Kerala culture in Canada. Our annual activities include summer picnic, Onam Celebrations, Xmas celebrations and other social and cultural functions.
Today MKA runs cultural celebrations, youth and language programs, and community support for Malayali families settling into Peel Region and the wider GTA, all organized by volunteers from the community itself.
Onam, Navaratri, Iftar, Christmas, our Children's Fest; we hold on to the traditions that shaped us, so they don't fade a generation from now.
We want our kids to carry the same language, stories, and values we grew up with — not as an obligation, but as something they're genuinely proud of.
MKA is volunteer-led and not-for-profit — built so this community has a real place to gather today, and one that's still standing for the generations after us.
